Digital audio circuitry that delivers near-CD-quality sound. PCM digital stereo is offered on selected Sony 8mm equipment. It is recorded at a position on the tape separate from the regular AFM Hi-Fi soundtrack. On the Sony EV-S7000 Hi8 VCR, PCM digital stereo allows for overdubbing of high-quality audio music or other sound—while retaining a videotape’s original soundtrack.
